Our Fair Work Charter is built around five pillars:

Who created the West Yorkshire Fair Work Charter?

Our Fair Work Charter was developed by Tracy Brabin, the Mayor of West Yorkshire. She worked closely with a wide range of organisations to make sure it met the needs of both employers and employees. This included:

  • Business leaders
  • Trade unions
  • Public sector organisations
  • Voluntary and non-profit organisations
  • Faith and community groups
What do I get for joining?

How do I apply?

Every employer is welcome to join the Fair Work Charter, regardless of size, sector or structure. It’s free and easy to join. All you need is a commitment to offering fair work and building a positive work environment.

  2. We will reach out to onboard you and provide you with materials
  3. Complete a self-assessment to set a benchmark of where you stand now
  4. Use our tools and guidance to embed fair work in your organisation
  5. Complete periodic reassessments to track your progress to fairer work
