Tackling the climate and environmental emergency in West Yorkshire
We’re creating a cleaner, greener and healthier region as we work towards being net zero carbon by 2038 at the latest.
The Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority have launched an ambitious plan to tackle the climate and environmental emergency.
Climate change is already having a real impact on our region and time to act is running out.
But we believe that achieving our ambition of a net zero carbon region by 2038 at the latest presents a unique opportunity to transform our economy, create new skilled jobs, develop a sustainable public transport network and improve our health and our homes.
This will require everyone to make changes to reduce their carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency and increase the use of renewable energy.
