Future plans include exploring a Mass Transit route connecting Leeds, White Rose, and areas of Kirklees like Dewsbury, creating seamless travel options for all. Through funding from initiatives such as the Active Travel FundTransforming Cities Fund, and the City Regional Sustainable Transport Settlement, we are expanding active travel networks and improving urban and rural areas alike.

Excitingly, the multi-billion-pound Transpennine Route Upgrade project is underway, bringing faster, more reliable trains across the region, with significant improvements to 8 stations within Kirklees, including Huddersfield and Dewsbury. This project is transforming connectivity across the Pennines, connecting communities to Leeds, Manchester, York, Liverpool, and beyond.
