What the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement will mean for West Yorkshire

Across West Yorkshire CRSTS schemes include:

  • Bus priority and other highways improvements will be supported by better ticketing and information as part of the Integrated Shared Transport package
  • Bus and cycle corridor schemes will help deliver the future network of safe cycle routes
  • Begin delivery of the first phase of our mass transit network. Find out more about our mass transit programme [link to MT page]
  • We will continue to develop and deliver schemes to transform our town and city centres for walking and cycling by delivering high quality infrastructure and improved sustainable access to rail stations in Leeds, Halifax, Elland, Brighouse, Huddersfield, Bradford and Wakefield
  • We will create greener, healthier and better places through a programme of low traffic neighbourhoods and school streets, reducing traffic and enabling safer walking and cycling in Leeds and in communities across West Yorkshire
  • Shared transport hubs – providing a range of sustainable transport services and improved passenger information in one place, giving people easier access to more travel options. They encourage people to make more shorter journeys - of around two miles or less - using sustainable modes of transport, such as walking or cycling, helping to reduce congestion and improve air quality.
