What the City Region Sustainable Transport Settlement will mean for Leeds.
In Leeds, CRSTS schemes will:
- Deliver new bus gates and further investment in cycling and walking in the city centre
- Improve links between residential North-East Leeds and the city centre and to St. James Hospital through bus priority and segregated cycle facilities
- Infrastructure improvements will be introduced on the A660, including improvements to Lawnswood roundabout to address cycling and walking safety issues
- Bus lanes will be introduced to improve bus reliability
- Create a new bus bypass lane on Elland Road South as well as improving bus waiting times and introducing new cycling facilities at the junction
